Safety Escort Services
University of Washington Police Department has two Safety Escort Services to assist students on their walks across campus and within the University District:
Husky SafeTrip (formerly Husky NightWalk) provides UW students and employees with a safe ride in a UWPD security guard car. You can request to be dropped off or picked up at your home, your car, public transit or another UW building, provided these locations are within the SafeTrip service area. Call 206-685-9255 for services.
NightRide is a U-PASS sponsored shuttle service for students, faculty and staff. Passengers can board the NightRide from any one of eight on-campus stops and be dropped off at any requested location within the two shuttle zones. Schedules are prominently displayed at all stops, and schedules are available at information kiosks around campus. Wheelchair-accessible shuttles service both zones. Call 206-608-3510 for more information.

UW Alert
UW Alert is a notification system that provides the UW community with timely information about situations that pose an immediate potential threat to health and safety on or near campus. UW Alert messages are sent via email and text, as well as posted on Facebook, X and the UW Alert Blog. Incidents that prompt an alert message can include an active shooter, other violent crimes on or near campus, severe weather and hazardous materials (HazMat) responses. UW Alert messages are limited to 160 characters, so messages include a link to the UW Alert Blog for more information as it becomes available.
The highest crime on campus is theft – mostly of unattended or improperly secured items. Electronics and bicycles are especially high-risk target items. Learn how to secure your belongings and register them to make sure that if they are stolen, UWPD can help return them to their rightful owner. Register your electronics or bicycle.
SafeCampus
SafeCampus is the University of Washington’s violence prevention and response program, supporting students, staff, faculty and community members. Their caring, trained professionals will listen to your concerns, provide guidance and safety plans tailored to your situation and connect you with additional resources if you want them. Reach SafeCampus at 206-685-7233.

SafeZone App
The SafeZone app gives you direct access to the fastest possible safety assistance regardless of where you are! Inside the UW’s Seattle campus, the app provides you with immediate access to the UW Police when you need assistance. Outside of the UW’s Seattle campus, the app will connect you to the relevant local emergency services.
Husky Assist
Husky Assist is a dedicated, skilled team of on-call mental health professionals ready to respond to students, staff and faculty experiencing a mental or behavioral health situation on the Seattle campus. They are available to respond on the UW’s Seattle campus 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday (except for holidays). To reach Husky Assist, call 206-543-9331or 911.

Emergency Phones on Campus
If you have an emergency on campus, help can be summoned using a variety of security and emergency phones that will put you directly in touch with the UW Police Department. Officers will respond directly or call other emergency services, such as Seattle Fire and Medic One, if needed. Locations of these phones can be found on the UW Campus Map.
Residential Life Staff Member on-Call
Every night between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., Residential Life staff are on call and available to respond to situations. You can contact the staff member on call in your building by calling 206-543-1000 and selecting your building line.
Always carry your Husky Card
Your Husky Card serves as your building key, debit card, and identity. Make sure to always carry it on you and keep it secure. Do not let anyone in your residence hall without having to scan their own Husky Card and do not loan your card to anyone. Everybody Taps!
