2009–10 Residence Halls
Finances
Rates
The cost of living in the residence halls compares favorably to living in an apartment. Besides your room and food, the following are included in your room and dining costs:
Ethernet access in your room
Cable TV service in your room
Water, sewer, garbage, electricity
The amount you will pay for room and dining is determined by the type of room to which you are assigned and the Dining Level you choose. Most new residents are assigned to double or triple rooms. Returning residents have priority for single rooms. A breakdown of the 2009–10 rates may be viewed online on the Residence Hall Annual Rates sheet.
You may check your housing balance online here.
Billing
Housing and dining charges are assessed quarterly. Incidental charges are issued at the time of the service (for example, refrigerator rental) or contract change (for example, room change). You will be notified of charges to your housing account via email to your University of Washington (UW) email account. You may request that billing statements be sent to a different account, or that a paper statement is issued, by completing the Billing Address Update Form online here.
Please note: HFS statements are separate from the University of Washington system's statements. If you review invoices via the MyUW website, please keep in mind that MyUW is primarily for tuition. MyUW housing information may not be current or complete.
