Husky Card

The Husky Card is the official identification card for members of the University of Washington (UW) community and is available to students, faculty and permanent staff. Obtaining a Husky Card gives you access to a variety of services, conveniences and opportunities including:

Library Services

The Husky Card serves as your UW library card. Use it when checking out books and materials from the UW Libraries.

Transportation/U-PASS

UW employees and registered students are eligible to purchase a U-PASS sticker once they have received their Husky Card. Affix the sticker to your Husky Card and show it to transit operators to receive full fare coverage on Metro and all Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) buses. Additional benefits include free rides on the NightRide Shuttle and discounts at participating merchants. For more information about the U-PASS, visit the UW Commuter Services website. Students should also review the U-PASS section of our student webpage.

Activities and Entertainment

Cardholders are eligible for:

  • Admission to campus events

  • Membership to the Intramural Activities Building (IMA)

  • Free admission to the Henry Art Gallery and the Burke Museum

  • Discounts on tickets at the UW Arts Ticket Office

  • Discounted Husky sporting event tickets

  • Participation in the UW Discount Program

Building Entry

The Husky Card acts as your key for entry into assigned areas on campus. For residence hall students, the Husky Card provides access to your building.

Husky Card Account

All Husky Cards are automatically linked to a debit account which can be conveniently used for on- and off-campus events and services. Visit the Husky Card Account website for information on how to add funds to your card. Once you've deposited funds, you can use your Husky Card for:

Dining Services

The Husky Card is accepted at all Housing and Food Services locations and campus vending machines. Residence hall students have an additional account on their cards, called the Resident Dining Account, which can be used for purchasing food on campus. For a full list of on- and off-campus vendors, check out our Places to Use Your Husky Card webpage.

Shopping

An increasing number of nearby off-campus locations accept the Husky Card Account, including the University Bookstore, Safeway and Rite Aid. Our handy Dining Guide provides a map of on-campus dining locations as well as a list of off-campus merchants who accept the Husky Card Account. (The dining guide is not routinely updated and may include merchants who have discontinued service. See Dining Services above for an up-to-date list of merchants).

Dawg Prints

Use your Husky Card Account to print and copy in the UW Libraries, Computing Labs and Copy Services. Please visit the Dawg Prints website for more information.

Parking Services

Obtain discounted parking at the Montlake E1 parking lot and get a discounted rate for carpool parking (if all passengers have a valid U-PASS). Visit the UW Commuter Services website to see a full list of available parking lots and rates.

Laundry Services

Residence Hall students only: Pay for your laundry using the machines available in the residence hall laundry rooms. These machines only accept the Husky Card Account for payment.
