Driving Directions

 

Via Interstate 5 to Haggett Hall, Hansee Hall, McCarty Hall and McMahon Hall

Take Exit 169, NE 45th Street, and turn east (right if traveling northbound, left if traveling southbound) onto NE 45th Street. To reach McMahon, Haggett, McCarty or Hansee halls, travel east on NE 45th Street to 17th Avenue NE and turn south (right) onto campus. Stop at the parking gate if it is open, or proceed to Stevens Way and turn east (left). After turning left onto Whitman Court, you will find McMahon, Haggett, McCarty and Hansee halls (in that order) on the right-hand side of the road. Please note that all parking on campus is restricted to paid permits only, which you may purchase either at the campus gatehouses or at a residence hall front desk.

 

Via Interstate 5 to Lander Hall and Terry Hall

Take Exit 169, NE 45th Street, and turn east (right if traveling northbound, left if traveling southbound) onto NE 45th Street. Travel east on NE 45th Street to Roosevelt Way NE. Turn south (right) on Roosevelt Way. Continue driving south until you pass NE 42nd Street. Get in the left-turn lane for NE Campus Parkway. Turn left onto NE Campus Parkway. The Terry and Lander residence halls (in that order) are on your right. Limited metered street parking may be available in front of both buildings or you may proceed on NE Campus Parkway in the right lane to 15th Avenue NE. Turn right on 15th Avenue NE, immediately get in the left lane and proceed one block to 40th Street NE. Turn left (east) onto 40th Street NE and onto campus. Stop at the parking gate if it is open and purchase a parking permit for parking lot W2 (located behind Condon Hall). Please note all parking on campus is restricted to paid permits all days except Sundays and University of Washington holidays.

 

Transportation Options from Sea-Tac International Airport

 

METRO Bus Service

Cost: $1.75–$2.50 depending on the time of day. Exact change is required.

Board bus #194 (or after 8:30 p.m., #174) northbound to downtown Seattle. Outside the baggage area, look for signage for bus location. The trip takes approximately 25–30 minutes. When boarding, pay fare and request a transfer pass. Exit the bus at the first tunnel station in downtown Seattle and transfer to bus #71, 72 or 73 to the University District. If the tunnel is closed, exit the bus at 3rd and James and transfer to bus #73.

 

For Haggett Hall, Hansee Hall, McCarty Hall and McMahon Hall

Exit the bus at NE Campus Parkway and Brooklyn Avenue. Walk 100 feet to Bay #2 and get on bus #65. Show the driver your transfer pass. Entering the main gate onto campus, the bus will turn left onto Stevens Way at the first intersection. At the second stop (in front of Padelford Hall), exit the bus and show your transfer pass. Just across the street will be Clark Hall. Walk north along Stevens Way, passing Pend Oreille Road on your right. Continue straight onto Whitman Court. The first building on the right is McMahon Hall, followed by Haggett, McCarty and Hansee halls (in that order).

 

For Lander Hall and Terry Hall

Exit the bus (#71, 72 or 73) at NE Campus Parkway and Brooklyn Avenue NE. Walk west (right) down NE Campus Parkway crossing Brooklyn Avenue NE. Lander and Terry halls will be the two buildings to your left (in that order).

On the baggage claim level, please see airport signage for the current location. The cost is approximately $31 per person, one way. Taxi

 

Ring bell outside the baggage area (the passenger loading zone) for taxi dispatch. It is approximately 20 miles to the University of Washington from Sea-Tac Airport, and the taxi fare is approximately $45–$50.
