Daytime and Graveyard Summer Conference Desk Host (Job #s 124 or 126)

 

Provide customer service for student residents and conference guests in the residence halls. Duties include checking in residents and guests, issuing keys and meal cards, complete check-in and checkout transactions in the housing assignment or conference computer system, collecting payments, documenting billing, and forwarding and sorting mail. One year of experience in a responsible public service or customer service position is required. Previous summer conference, residence hall desk or hotel front desk experience is preferred. Experience handling money and cash registers is preferred.

 

 

Student Graphic Designer (Job #125)

 

Do you have experience in visual design? Would you like to work at an exciting on-campus location, creating promotions and marketing materials for Housing and Food Services, including on-campus retail stores, resident dining restaurants, Residential Life events and activities, residence halls, single-student/family apartments, Bay Laurel Catering and Human Resources? This is your chance to conceptualize and design a variety of visual communications, and help coordinate their production and delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to acquire real world experience in your field!

 

The applicant must be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator for the Mac) and Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint). The applicant must be currently enrolled in art, design or multi-media course work, and have college-level training in graphics and design, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

 

Subway (Front and Back of House Dining Staff, Job #'s 101 and 105)

 

Work in a fast paced, team oriented environment at Subway in the Husky Den (Great location! ) In this position you will be serving customers, taking orders, making sandwiches, helping with cleaning and food prep, and cashiering. We are now hiring for morning prep shifts and for the lunch rush between 11:30 and 1:30 p.m. Please note in the additional info section that you are interested in working at Subway.

 

Summer Housekeeper (Separate application, see below for details)

 

Summer Conference Housekeepers assist with preparing accommodations for our conference guests from all over the world. Duties include setting up and cleaning overnight guest rooms, meeting rooms and dining rooms for conference delegates. Pay rate is $11.17 per hour. These are temporary, hourly positions. Summer employment begins June 2008 and continues through September 2008. Housekeepers are typically scheduled to work 25–30 hours per week. Catering Server (Job #104)

 

Student employees in this position deliver to and serve at catered events across the UW campus. These events range from simple coffee or beverage breaks to full-service breakfasts, lunches, receptions and dinners. Students who like variety, love this position! We offer an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing teamwork and life skills that will serve a student well throughout his or her professional career.
